Monthly Workshops
Each month we list a variety of workshops where you can create both functional and decorative pieces. We use 2 types of clay in the studio. Earthenware clay is a low fire clay that is great for everyday and decorative pieces that can be glazed with our low fire colorful glazes. Stoneware is a high fire, more durable clay that is great for pieces you want to endure weather or to be dishwasher, microwave and oven safe. Stonefire glazes are colorful and require a little extra instruction to apply.
No experience necessary
Our skilled instructors lead our clay classes. They’ll lead you through the process from start to finish. You’ll learn to roll, pinch, score and slip the clay so that your piece turns out just the way you want it. We have all the tools you need to create beautiful textures and designs on your piece so it’s uniquely yours.
Clay Workshops are a 2 for one experience!
All of our clay workshops are priced to include both your initial clay workshop to hand build your piece and a second visit, during open studio hours, to glaze your piece. Hand Built items require 2 firings as well. First the initial bisque firing after you build your piece after which it will be ready to accept glaze. Then a second firing after you return to glaze your piece to make it shiny and finished. It takes 3-4 weeks to take your piece from a lump of clay to a finished piece that is ready to display or use in your home.

Scouts
Studio Owner, Charlotte Perkins was a Girl Scout troop leader for many years in Livingston County and is passionate about supporting our local Girl Scouts. We have a program option for every level of scouting.
