Clay Handbuilding Workshop: Chicken Planters! @ The Ceramic Studio Etc

We are so excited for this fun and playful class, create your own chicken planter!  These adorable pieces are a great addition to your spring decor and so fun to make! This piece can also be created as a vase, our instructor will let you know how to modify at the workshop. We expect this class to take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and the class is designed for adults and teens aged 13 and older.  All Attendees must purchase a ticket.

What to Expect:

• Instruction and Guidance: Our experienced instructors will provide step-by-step guidance throughout the workshop. They’ll assist you in shaping approximately 2 pounds of clay into a charming chicken planter, offering tips and techniques along the way.
• Creative Freedom: Get ready to infuse your own flair into your creation! We provide patterned rolling pins and lace for you to press into the clay, allowing you to embellish your piece with unique textures and designs. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or new to pottery, you’ll have the freedom to explore and experiment with your ideas.
• Dimensions: Your chicken planter will stand approximately 6 inches tall, with a width of 8 inches and a depth of 2 inches, providing ample space for your favorite plants to thrive.
• Friendly Atmosphere: Expect a warm and welcoming environment where you can mingle with fellow participants, exchange inspiration, and enjoy the creative process together.
• Firing and Glazing: Once you’ve completed your planter, we’ll fire it in our kiln to ensure durability. Your piece will be ready for glazing in two weeks or less. Your ticket includes a second visit during our open studio hours to add vibrant colors and finishes to your masterpiece. We offer open drop-in hours six days a week, providing you with flexibility to return and complete the glazing process at your convenience.

Our clay glazing policy is as follows: projects created in Clay Workshop need to be glazed within 2 weeks of firing or they can pick up and save them to bring back in the next 90 days to glaze if they need more time. Projects older than 90 days can still be glazed and fired for a $10 fee. We may not be able to fire older projects in November and December.

Cancellation Policy: Tickets are non- refundable however with at least 48 hours advanced notice you can transfer your ticket to another workshop or event, not limited to Clay Hand building or use your ticket price in the studio for drop in painting or fusing, just bring your printed ticket with you. Unfortunately with less than 24 hours notice, materials have been prepped and we cannot credit or refund your ticket price.
