Clay Handbuilding Class: Create a Puppy Planter

Join us at The Ceramic Studio Etc for a fun and creative clay handbuilding class where you’ll make an adorable puppy planter! This class is perfect for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced. You’ll learn the basics of handbuilding with clay, including techniques for shaping, attaching, and decorating your piece. Our experienced instructors will guide you step-by-step as you create your unique puppy planter, complete with charming details and your choice of colorful decorations. The finished planter is about 12″ nose to tail and 4-5 inches wide.

After the workshop, we’ll fire your piece in our kiln. Then, return for a second visit to glaze your puppy planter, adding the finishing touches to make it truly one-of-a-kind. All materials and tools are provided, so just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!

We expect this workshop will take about 2 hours to complete. This project is appropriate for ages 14 and up, no previous clay experience is required. Children age 10-13 may also purchase a seat if attending with a paid adult.

Your piece will be fired within 10 days of the workshop and your purchase includes an additional visit to glaze your piece.

Our clay glazing policy is as follows: projects created in Clay Workshop need to be glazed within 2 weeks of firing or they can pick up and save them to bring back in the next 90 days to glaze if they need more time. Projects older than 90 days can still be glazed and fired for a $10 fee. We may not be able to fire older projects in November and December.

Cancellation Policy: Tickets are non- refundable however with at least 24 hours advanced notice you can transfer your ticket to another workshop or event, not limited to Clay Hand building or use your ticket price in the studio for drop in painting or fusing, just bring your printed ticket with you. Unfortunately with less than 24 hours notice, materials have been prepped and we cannot credit or refund your ticket price.
