Stoneware Mugs and Planters: Handbuilding class @ The Ceramic Studio Etc

Looking for a fun, hands-on way to celebrate the arrival of spring — and Mother’s Day? Join us the evening before Mother’s Day for a creative clay adventure where you’ll get to design and build your very own mug or planter from scratch! Whether you’re treating yourself, spending time with someone special, or making a heartfelt handmade gift, this class is a perfect way to celebrate.

You’ll start by learning simple yet effective handbuilding techniques to shape your piece — whether you envision a cozy mug for morning coffee or a charming planter to brighten up any space. Then, let your imagination flow as you add personal touches, from handles and textures to decorative elements. It’s all about making something uniquely yours!

The fun doesn’t stop there! After your creation dries and is fired (about 10 days), you’ll return for a follow-up session to glaze your piece with the colors and finishes of your choice during our drop-in hours. Your finished pottery will be both functional and a perfect reflection of your creativity.

Pricing:
Reserve your spot with a $10 ticket, and the remainder of the $45 project fee will be paid during the class ($35 balance). This price covers both sessions and all materials needed to bring your vision to life. You can choose to make a larger piece for an additional fee.

Workshop Details:
This workshop is designed for ages 16 and over. Teens aged 13–16 may also purchase a seat if attending with a paid adult.

Clay Glazing Policy:
Projects created in Clay Workshop must be glazed within 2 weeks of firing or picked up to glaze within the next 90 days. Projects older than 90 days can still be glazed and fired for a $10 fee. Please note: we may not be able to fire older projects in November and December.

Cancellation Policy:
Tickets are non-refundable. With at least 48 hours’ notice, you can transfer your ticket to another workshop or event (not limited to Clay Handbuilding) or use your ticket price toward drop-in painting or fusing. Just bring your printed ticket with you.
Unfortunately, with less than 48 hours’ notice, materials have already been prepped and we cannot credit or refund your ticket.
