Let’s Make A Vase! @ The Ceramic Studio Etc

Let’s make a vase! We’ll have a couple designs available to show you, so if you’ve never worked with clay before we will show you step by step how to create a piece like our samples. If you have some experience with clay or have attended another of our classes we’ll give you the freedom to create a shape you’d like, just come with an idea in mind! This project will use up to 2 lbs of Stoneware clay, if you’d like to make a larger piece you are welcome to purchase additional clay at the event.

Stoneware is dishwasher and microwave safe and great for pieces that need to withstand weather too. We’re excited to be offering this more durable clay body. This will be a small workshop with a single instructor so register early to ensure you get a spot!

Specific glazes are used for stoneware and you’ll get to learn all about them when you return to glaze. Remember your hand building class includes a return visit to glaze your piece once it’s fired, so it’s a 2 visit price!

We anticipate this workshop will take 90 min to 2 hours.

This workshop is designed for age 16 and over, all experience levels welcome. Teens age 13-16 may also purchase a seat if attending with a paid adult.

Our clay glazing policy is as follows: projects created in Clay Workshop need to be glazed within 2 weeks of firing or they can pick up and save them to bring back in the next 90 days to glaze if they need more time. Projects older than 90 days can still be glazed and fired for a $10 fee. We may not be able to fire older projects in November and December.
